There is so much to see at this wonderful heritage museum. Just walking distance from main street Huntsville. The kids will love the train station.

I didn't like being constantly reminded by the staff that they were closing soon. I felt rushed out of there, and more than one staff member, when they were reminding me that they were closing up soon, told me that they have to go to their other job. I feel for these folks, but there were only a handful of people there (it was a weekday), and it's not like I was with a huge group that was difficult to corral when it was closing time. I arrived with over an hour before closing. I was passing through, and this was my only chance to go, so I was fine with paying to go in and having to be out by closing time. I brought my kids with me. We wanted to see the outdoor village, which was terrific, but being constantly and pointedly told by everyone I encountered that they were closing an hour, in 40 minutes, in a half hour, etc., was really tiresome. They were even closing up buildings 10 minutes BEFORE closing, even though the area of the village is quite small. So, in short, the village was great, but feeling pressured to get out of there BEFORE closing time wasn't great.

Hidden treasure alert! Never knew about this historic site before this summer. The price may seem a little high to some, but it does include three different activities, i.e. the actual village, a museum, and a ride on a small train called the Portage Flyer. You also have the option of buying tickets for just the train at the Steam Museum. I think you can also buy the train tickets at the main entrance to the centre. The views from the Fairy Lake Station at the far end of the tracks are amazing. The staff was both friendly and knowledgeable. Certainly, a must see for children and young families. It's definitely a cool place to help plant the seeds of knowledge of the history of the surrounding region.

Very quaint little tourist destination. I was impressed by the local historical buildings and the staff seemed very knowledgeable. The train ride was very short, but still enjoyable. I would definitely recommend checking the park out.

Cool place. We went near closing time though and staff kept reminding us that it was closing time. Felt pretty rushed
